Mastered course begins..

Since I started Capstone Framing, it’s probably fair to say I’ve been floundering around in the dark with certain business matters. It’s all well and good being skilled up as a picture framer, but without the business acumen, the organizational tools and general housekeeping, it’s very difficult (and slow going) to grow that business. It turns out I’m severely lacking in those areas, and managing family life, with the workshop in a tiny terraced house in Sheffield has definitely been challenging.

Fortunately for me, I stumbled across Mastered, a free mentoring programme for small creative businesses whilst scrolling on social media. I applied, and to my great relief I was offered a place. On Tuesday I attended the first in person seminar at Showroom Workstation and was introduced to my cohort of fellow students. I’m already feeling slightly more empowered and positive about the business moving forward. It was inspiring to meet others in a similar situation to me and to feel the cross peer support amongst us. We spent some time envisioning different futures which really helped to consolidate my values and desires both personally and for Capstone Framing. There’s some lofty ideas which I’m really excited to try and bring into reality, so watch this space..
