Hi! I’m Joe, and I am Capstone Framing. Currently a one man band, I am an experienced bespoke picture framer with over 10 years in the business. I formed Capstone Framing in 2022 with the intention of providing exquisite framing to meet all budgets. I am continually striving to develop my own skillset to bring you the most creative and versatile service possible, offering superlative hand finishes to frames and mounts to offer truly unique framing options. I have a background in Fine Art, graduating with a first-class BA (Hons) from Falmouth College of Art in 2008. It is this coupled with my meticulous nature that led me down the path of becoming a picture framer.

I offer framing to all 4 levels as outlined by the industry standards body The Fine Art Trade Guild, and can advise on the most appropriate level of framing for your work. These 4 levels are as follows:

• Level 1 (Museum) with a minimum target life of 35 years

• Level 2 (Conservation) with a minimum target life of 20 years

• Level 3 (Commended) with a minimum target life of 5 years

• Level 4 (Budget) with no specified target life

  It must be stressed that these Levels pertain to the protection offered to the framed work, and not the quality of work. Framing to any of these levels is carried out to the highest expected standard for the job.

  I passed my Guild Certified Framers exam in June 2023, a rigorous examination that tests a framers competence and knowledge. All types of work can be framed from Fine Art to prints, photography, memorabilia, textile art, paintings on canvas and sports shirts. I offer a wide range of prefinished mouldings to accommodate work of all aesthetic styles, as well as hand-painted options for something completely unique.
